Screened for the first time back in 1993, the critically acclaimed “Menace II Society” (read as Menace to Society) provided an unfiltered look into the world of urban violence and how it shaped the lives of young people. It was also a show of strength for much of the cast, which also included names like Jada Pinkett Smith or Samuel L. Jackson.
Many people will also remember Tyrin Turner’s main character of Kaydee “Caine” Lawson in conjunction with his Fox Body Ford Mustang 5.0 GT Convertible and those gold Dayton wire wheels he carjacks from another young man.
Well, it turns out the American film and television actor – who is best known for this role but has been working behind the scenes for decades ever since – still has the car from the movie in his possession. Not for long, though, because he just turned to social media to announce he’s willing to part ways with it, with the highest bidder also getting his personal autograph.
There’s more than one surprise to take in here. First of all, the fact that Tyrin Turner owns the car from the movie is not that out of the ordinary because we all know that stars tend to keep memorabilia from their most famous stints.
But seeing the Fox Body Mustang in such a pristine condition (as far as we can tell from the odd aspect ratio of the Instagram footage), with all the “bling” intact after all these years, certainly qualifies as a moment of awe. On the other hand, Turner seems ready to move on, as he is currently looking for “serious cash buyers.”
There are two separate posts (both embedded below); the initial one has a “Yeah who wanna bid... the original Kaydee Caine Mustang!!!!!!! And I’m personally autographing!!!!!” caption, while the second one brings additional details and an unexpected reply.
Apparently, bidding for the 1991 Fox Body Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible kicks off at $50k, which is a bit high even by fellow movie star and singer Snoop Dogg’s standards. That’s probably also why he was quick to reply, asking Turner in a tongue-in-cheek manner to “knock some zeros off that price loc that’s a 5.0.”
