New goodies are on the list for those thinking about getting a new BMW maxi-scooter. Both the C650 Sport and C650 GT received solid upgrades and updates and now come with increased long-range comfort for improved touring capabilities and with extra safety features.
The drivetrain was extensively modified, as the CTV transmission received a new clutch for better responsiveness. The ratio spread and the fine-tuning of the centrifugal weights achieved a smoother, more reassuring response to twisting the throttle.

ABS and ASC as standard

While anti-locking brakes are not a new feature on the C650 Sport and C650 GT, these scooters now benefit from the top-of-the-line BMW Motorrad ABS Bosch 9.1MB ABS equipment as standard. Also on the standard trim list we can find the ASC (Automatic Stability Control), while the options include a first in the two-wheel industry, the rider assistance system Side View Assist (SVA), monitoring the blind spot.

The settings of the suspensions and shock absorbers have also been revised for better riding comfort in both the urban environment and during longer hauls, even though the travel remained unchanged.

These scoots produce 60 hp at 7,500 rpm, but are also available in a restricted version whose peak power reached only the A2-legal 35 kW at 7,000 rpm. A new silencer has also been used, adding to the dynamic looks and providing a more pleasing aural experience.

For C650 Sport, BMW implemented more visual changes, while the C650 GT got fine tuning for certain elements. The dash comes with newly designed instrument dials and a new handlebar trim, complemented by three color options for each model.

The C650 Sport receives the new Valencia Orange metallic matt livery in addition to the existing Lightwhite non-metallic and Blackstorm metallic. The C650 GT will be available in Blackstorm metallic, Frozen Bronze metallic and Lightwhite non-metallic.

Prices expected soon, as well as a bevy of live photos from us as we plan to shoot these two maxi scooters live at EICMA in November.
