Meet the Stunning Tauro V8 Spider from Spain

The sports car market had gotten rather stale lately, with an acute lack of originality and style on the part of the designers who have been churning out bland design after bland design. Well, a new and very small Spanish manufacturer has finally broken the trend, with a car from which the ‘big’ manufacturers would have a thing or two to learn, design-wise.

It draws inspiration from many iconic roadsters made from the 1960s onward, as well as from some newer cars, with hints of Alfa Romeo 8C at the back and a little bit of Mercedes-Benz SLS at the front, but, as a whole design package, it looks stunning. It even has three little gills on the side - again somewhat similar to other cars, but different at the same time, and in a good way. The car features a classic soft-top which, again, suits the design perfectly, giving the car a distictive retro vibe.

Inside, the car gets everything covered in leather, and everything is tailored to the customer’s demands. Powering the sexy roadster is the well-known 6.3-liter LS3 V8 which, along with the automatic gearbox fitted to one of the two cars currently built (the other one has a close-ratio six-speed manual). Power figures are anybody’s guess at this point, but the figure should be over 440 hp, at least, with hints that it may be as high as 530 hp - no official data is available at the moment.

To keep costs down, the car will be underpinned by a Pontiac Solstice chassis, modified to accommodate the huge engine, as well as to put the power down. Two of the thirty cars planned have already been built, and when it goes on sale, expect to pay in the region of €100,000 ($125,000) if you want one for yourself - and we’re sure you do!
