This year’s Baselworld watch convention sure did surprise everybody with some really impressive new models. Of course, this event would normally belong to others, but since a lot of the luxury watches are somewhat connected to the automotive industry we have to admit we’ve spent some time following new appearances.
Some of them are simply ground-breaking. So is the latest creation of renown clock and mechanical artist Mr. Miki Eleta who is simply amazing to say the least. The Timeburner is a new type of timepiece that was heavily inspired by engines - namely motorcycle ones. Limited to only 99 units, the new model showcased at Baselworld, it’s the creator’s first ever kinetic timepiece.

Designed as a tribute to the earliest internal combustion engines, the watch has an aluminum piston instead of hands and is driven by a mechanical movement. Initiated when the wearer winds the spark plug the 48mm wide wristwatch has a stainless steel case that features three sapphire crystals and has an untreated bronze crown. Did we mention it has a piston instead of hands?

Each of the 99 pieces has a water resistance rating of 3 ATM and a 46-hour power reserve that works at a frequency of 18,000 v/h. According to ablogtowatch, the gorgeous timepiece is available in three editions, the charming silverlight, the adventurous chrome-rider and the provocative all-black.

Moreover, the models have some different dial or finishing options, but share the same steel and unfinished bronze cases. Oh, and have we mentioned this timepiece has a piston instead of hands?

PS: still no word on the price yet, but we’re pretty sure that’s a mystery soon to be elucidated.
