The first images of the McLaren X-1 are still in our cache, but now we want to give you a video that shows the MP4-12C-based one-off setting wheel in the real world.
The vehicle was built for a special customer in the Middle East, whose identity has not been revealed to the public and who is rumored to have paid up to $7 million/EUR5.66 million (we’re taking this with a grain of salt) for it.
The project was handled by McLaren Special Operations and aimed to offer an elegant and timeless design. The new body that sits on the MP4-12C chassis and uses the later’s engine, is larger and uses a carbon fiber construction.
The interior is also based on that of the MP4-12C, but offers bespoke elements, such as Harissa Red Nappa leather and titanium weave carbon fiber trimming.
