McLaren SLR 999, Anliker's Gold Dream

There are a few things in this world you don't usually associate with the Mercedes McLaren SLR. Of those things, what you will never put in the same thought thread are the colors red, gold and the same SLR. That's because you, just like us, are a sane, coherent human being.

Not the same can be said about the Swiss tuning firm Ueli Anliker Design (UA). The guys over there went to bed one night and had a midsummer night's dream (we know it's not summer, but play along). Just like in such a scenario, when high temperatures make your body pump water like the Hoover Dam, they faced a very rough night, with short, yet excruciating epileptic episodes.

What they dreamt that night they put into practice. We frankly would have preferred them not to. Still they did, so here it is, this Red Light District window girl, called the 999 Red Gold Dream (we'd suggest the 666 Red Gold Nightmare name, but what do we know?).

We could waste our time trying to explain the "hows" behind the SLR, but, as any former "most likely to succeed" college girl turned prostitute, our interest in the car plummeted to zero as soon as we laid our eyes on it.

You can see for yourselves the rubies (UA says it used about 600 of them, but we really don't care), the nonsense of the use of gold all over the place (interior included) and we could go on, and on, and on, but really, what's the point?

If you think this is just a minor mishap, a hick-up of the thinking patter in the brains of the guys from UA, you're mistaking. We will not show you any other of their creations. Just take a look at their website...If you want to have some good long laughs, we strongly recommend you take the time and make a tour of that website. We laughed our a***s off.
