Rumors about McLaren building an open-top version of the MP4-12C supercar have been floating around for a while and it is now time to see how such a creation would look like. The adjacent renderings, which come from digital artist Wildspeed via Teamspeed, shows us a potential incarnation of the McLaren MP4-12C Spider.
As we previously reported, the vehicle is expected to use a roof layout that is similar to that found on the Ferrari 458 Spider. Thus, the roof will flip backwards and slide down into a slot located between the passenger cell and the engine compartment.

McLaren is believed to be designing a clear cover for the back, which would allow everybody to see the 3.8-liter twin-turbo unit (the same one as in the coupe) that will be powering the car.
