McLaren MP4-12C Gets Official Fitted Luggage

These days, you can’t call yourself a supercar maker if you don’t offer matching watches, cellphones and sports shoes. But perhaps the most important accessory for any cool car is a fitted luggage set.

Without that, nobody will ever be able to make the best use of the strange luggage rack or front-mounted boot. In fact, without fitted luggage, the best thing you can do is just throw your clothes into the whole a be done with that.

Today, McLaren has launched a “bespoke merchandise” line “inspired by the groundbreaking 12C”. This also includes Tag Heuer chronograph watches and clothes, but we’ve more interested in the three-piece luggage set.

It’s been designed to make use of 144 litres of space beneath the bonnet of the 12C. Designed by the McLaren Automotive design studio... and some bag maker they won’t officially mention, they are made “from an exclusive carbon fibre outer material, with carbon fibre handles and silver or McLaren Orange detail stitching.” The interior of the bags is done in the same Space Fabric that is used to upholster the seats.

The cases are available in three sizes – 59cm x 43cm x 22.5cm; 59cm x 39cm x 22.5cm; 40cm x 30cm x 16cm.
