McLaren Elva Goes Through a Full Detailing and PPF Before Reaching Its Customer

Last year the specialists from Topaz were called upon the Danish supercar maker Zenvo and entrusted with the responsibility to paint protect their ultimate TSR-S hypercar when the model wasn’t even on sale in the United Kingdom just yet.

Now it’s McLaren’s turn to have their own very special supercar, the windowless Elva, enjoy the same craftsmanship along with a thorough wash. Yes, even roofless 804-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 wonders need to shine spotless in any conditions, even long before meeting their owners.

After all, even though people would be surprised that something with an open cockpit can be washed like a regular car (with a few special measures), there’s no denying that collectibles such as the Elva always deserve the very best and special treatment.

For this lovely British Racing Green with bronze and white details example it means that McLaren has selected Topaz’ Level 2 Enhancement Detail and the paint protection film (PPF) coverage that is guaranteed to keep it looking pristine for as long as possible—or until the owner decides that it’s not really a garage queen and goes out for a hooning session on the racetrack.

Not to worry, though, because the company has another four levels of detailing if that happens, aside from the in-house created and bespoke PPF. By the way, this neat video not only includes all the usual wash, cleaning, detailing, and PPF installation processes but also comes with a cool bonus. That’s because Jo Lewis, the head of colors and materials at McLaren Design, comes up from the 11:15 mark for a not-so-little additional presentation.
