McLaren Automotive is on it way to completing a decade of road car activity (its return to the arena took place back in 2011, with the MP4-12C). And while Ferrari was its obvious rival, there are still aspects that clearly separate Woking animals from Maranello machines.
For instance, the power-to-weight ratio of the British missiles usually gives these the edge, at least as far as straight-line performance is concerned. Then again, McLarens aren't as pretty as their Italian rivals, at least according to many aficionados.

Well, the McLaren concept we have here, which comes in the form of a rendering delivered by an independent label, seems to rival the kind of beauty we've seen on Prancing Horses.

Thanks to spdesignsest, the digital label behind this work, we can now enjoy the McLaren Elva in Coupe form. Not only has the machine received a windscreen and a roof, but the rear deck has also been adapted to the new body style of the vehicle. As such, the final result looks like something that rolled off the factory gates.

Keep in mind that the actual Elva is a no-windscreen proposal that pays homage to the Elva M1A of the 1960s - the windshield can be delivered separately and installed on the car, as this was required by international road homologation.

Of course, the British model is a rival for the Ferrari Monza SP2, also coming in limited production form - the carmaker will only bring 399 units of the Elva to life, with each set to be offered for $1,690,000. So you shouldn't hold your breath for McLaren building a coupe version anytime soon.

The price and the exclusivity aura of the vehicle also mean that, despite the ever-increasing popularity of supercar builds, the odds of an owner giving his Elva such a conversion are not in favor of those who prefer fixed-roof machines to open-air models.
