McLaren 720S vs. 750 HP Nissan GT-R Drag Race Ends in Extermination

As our keen-eyed readers have noticed, the McLaren 720S we have here comes with a special number plate. And the thing isn't there by accident, as the Woking supercar has delivered plenty of drag racing action so far.

You see, this McLaren is owned by Brooks, an aficionado who also runs the Drag Times YouTube channel. And the vlogger stays true to the name of the channel, throwing the Macca at all sorts of opponents.

The latest drag race of the kind sees the Woking supercar battling a modded example of the Nissan GT-R.

The McLaren comes in factory stock from, which means that its official output sits at 720 hp. However, as indicated by independent dyno runs, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 occupying the middle section of the car delivers over 750 hp at the crank.

As we mentioned above, the Godzilla we have here has been given an aftermarket massage. The twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 of the supercar features bolt-on mods, with the thing now producing around 650 hp at the wheels, hence the crankshaft estimation in the title above.

It's worth noting that the two took the things to the track, so all the drivers had to worry about was mashing the throttle. The driver of the Nissan halo car wasn't ready for a Launch Control feature, so the supercars used a rolling start.

Of course, this meant the Nissan GT-R couldn't make use of its all-paw advantage, which could've at least given it a chance to grab the initial phase of the race.

Note that Brooks likes to refresh our memory, which is why the final part of the video includes an older drag race. The said battle sees the gear head's 720S fighting another GT-R, this time one that had been dialed all the way to 730 hp at the wheels.
