McLaren 720S Drag Races Ferrari 812 Superfast, The Struggle Is Real

The McLaren 720S is nothing short of a drag racing god. Time and time again, the Woking animal engages in sprinting battles and grabs the win, dominating everything out there, from supercar rivals to tuner machines with 1,xxx horsepower outputs. However, all those races saw the Macca being used to the perfect tune of the Launch Control procedure. But what if you skip this?

Brake boosting doesn't work outside the LC procedure, so this means we have to talk about the 720S taking off from idle, with the driver simply mashing the throttle.

But why would anybody do that? Well, if you ask us, for the sake of diversity. However, the aficionados behind the adventure showcased below came up with a different explanation.

To be more precise, it is stated that the McLaren 720S experiences wheelspin at times and this may hurt the clutch (we'll stick with the version listed above).

Regardless, the McLaren 720S drag raced the Ferrari 812 Superfast and we have to mention that the driver of the V12 beast followed the same procedure.

However, we'll remind you that the Prancing Horse is animated by a naturally aspirated V12, while the McLaren 720S relies on a twin-turbo V8. As such, the Britis toy had a really difficult time accelerating until the turbos spooled up.

So, how did that influence the finish line situation? We'll let the piece of footage below answer that question.

Note that the said battle was part of a sprinting adventure that also involved a pair of Lamborghinis. We're referring to the Aventador SV and a Huracan Performante Spyder. So yes, the aural side of this shenanigan is mighty impressive.

No, there wasn't any four-supercar challenge. Instead, classis two-car battles took place, with these following a simple principle - the quickest car stays in the game.
