The McLaren 720S is the supercar that seems to grab the most attention these days, with the Woking animal winning one drag race after another and being targeted by the aftermarket side of the industry. Oh, and you should keep in mind that we haven't even found out the Nurburgring lap time for Woking's newest missile.
However, if we zoom in on the 720S, we notice the all-round approach (we mean this in supercar terms), with the mid-engined animal mixing serious dynamic thrills with grand tourer assets.
For all the adrenaline junkies out there, the best part about the British automaker's new era, which kicked off with the introduction of the 720S, has yet to deliver a track special.
So while the 720S does pack amazing velocity abilities, it replaces the 650S and we are now looking forward to seeing McLaren coming up with a successor for the 675 Longtail.
This is where the rendering above steps in, with the pixel manipulation showing us a 720S that has received a more extreme aero package, along with a set of custom wheels - pixel tip to Spdesignset for the image.
The idea behind this render is enticing and yet the elements featured here aren't exactly what we expect to see on the 675LT replacement. The Liberty Walk-like fat fenders and the covered-up eye socket air intakes up front feel more like they come from digital fantasy land.
Even so, the render makes us think that the 675LT-based prototype we spied earlier this month could serve the purpose we mentioned above.
Back then, we talked about the test car potentially preparing us for a new McLaren racecar, but since the beast packed an active rear wing and such an element isn't allowed by certain racing regulations, we wouldn't hold our breath for such a track-confined machine.
