To be honest, the world has started to get a little tired of all the Viper vs. Hellcat races and it seems owners of the SRT machine got wind of the changing trends. This could be a reasonable explanation for the filming of the video below.
The clip may involve a Viper and street racing, but this time the Dodge goes up against a McLaren. The piece of British metal carbon fiber and composite materials in question is a 650S.

First and foremost, we have to talk about each car’s particularities. The McLaren is here in Spider trim. Given the extremely small performance gap between the fixed-roof model and the open-top one, McLaren itself, as well as owners, like to bring Spiders to speed battles, only to prove how good the machine is.

When it comes to the Viper, this is a GTS model with an ECU remap, but the exact output increase is not mentioned. As faith would have it, both supercars come finished in Yellow.

The American and the British machines engage in three races, willing to make sure the conclusion of the battle is relevant. As expected, the considerably lighter Mac kicks the Viper ass on all three occasions.

Regardless of the V10’s tune or of the Viper driver’s attempts to go for an early start, the 650S Spider takes the win.

Then again, we have two things to consider before declaring the McLaren the absolute winner here. First of all, with an MSRP of $265,000 in Coupe trim, the 650S is about three times more expensive than a Viper.

Secondly, the McLaren may be the best car in its class when it comes to sheer acceleration, but, if you ask us, the Viper is more thrilling when it comes to simply driving around.
