When McLaren presented the 650S at this year’s edition of the Geneva Motor Show, it became obvious that the bulks of the company’s sales would concentrate on the new development. Well, the time has come now to see the car in person and we’re bringing you a video walkaround of one of the first 650S in the US.
The unit here has recently arrived at McLaren Philadelphia. The British automotive producer likes to pride itself on the fact that its Spider models do not fall behind its Coupes (We can confirm that after our 12C Spider review).

Thus, the model in question is a 650S Spider. This is dressed in Tarocco Orange, a color that was brought to the McLaren range by the 650S. Notice that, in the background, we have a 12 and the difference in terms of road presence is obvious.

Still, the front splitter seems to bring the real-world ground clearance lower when compared to the 12C. Regardless of this, make sure you go for the optional vehicle lift system. The clip also takes us inside the 650S Spider, where the differences to the 12C Spider aren’t all that big, The standard Alcantara is here, mixed with plenty of carbon fiber and Orange contrast stitching.

As for the most important part of the new British weapon, the clip does not include driving scenes, but, apparently, word has it the 650S drives like a completely different animal when compared to the 12C.

The latter already comes with neck-snapping performance, so we are hoping that the difference is made more in terms of everyday driving, an area where the 12C was behind its competitors.
