The most epic car comparison of 2016 has finally come to a conclusion. After a week of deliberation and dozens of destroyed tires, Motor Trend has decided that the McLaren 570S is the best driver's car in the world right now.

40 minutes of comparison footage, plus several more videos with each car lapping Mazda Raceway is what we're left with. Unfortunately, both Ferrari and Lamborghini decided against giving MT one of their machines. We would have loved to see the 488 GTB and the F12tdf on the track and both could have made a difference.

I've been watching Best Driver's Car for several years and I can honestly say this is the most entertaining video yet. The two presenters have developed great chemistry, not only with each other but also with Randy Poe, the race car driver.

The episode is packed full of non-verbal humor that only the people who follow the show will understand.

The Americans are back, baby!

Sure, the McLaren 570S is declared the winner. However, all the American motors performed excellently. While the Dodge Viper ACR set the fastest lap time, both the Camaro and the Mustang were praised. See Ralph, MT still loves you!

The Camaro SS 1LE became known as one of the few cars out there that are both fast and fun. It was the cheapest car of the test, yet it set a blistering lap time. Golf GTI, Subaru BRZ - these were the most affordable cars in the previous tests, but none were this fast or fun.

As a driver's car, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is apparently the bargain of the century. Although if you do plan to take it to the autocross, consider putting on a fire-resistant suit.

While we couldn't help enjoy the comparison, there's an air of randomness that stops us from enjoying the conclusion. Like a horse coming from the back of the pack to win the whole thing, the McLaren 570S is almost never discussed in the video. Also, last year's best car, the AMG GT S isn't good anymore because... just because.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
