McLaren 570S Reviewed by Ex-Stig Ben Collins for Goodwood

There is a YouTube channel connected to the famous Goodwood Estate, where some of the most amazing things happen every summer. But it's still not the time for the Festival of Speed, so some supercar tests are just the thing to pass the time, starting with the McLaren 570S. In a few days, they will also release reviews of the BMW M2 pocket rocket and the Audi R8 V10 plus, which is mentioned in this video.

Even though he's been jolted and thrown around everywhere due to the harsh suspension, Ben has nothing bad to say about the latest McLaren model. According to him, the response of the engine is perfect, and the 570S has the same tub as the 650S. That's not what we've been hearing from people like Chris Harris who, coincidently, now works for Top Gear.

There are a couple of things worth noting about the 570S. For starters, it weighs about 1.4 tons wet, so it's lighter than all of its rivals. Second, the hydraulic setup of the 650S has been replaced by normal adaptive dampers. The cabin is much better finished as well and it features a 100% digital layout that you racing drivers will love. If it's just about feeling more connected to the road, why doesn't McLaren offer a manual gearbox option? Sure, it's going to be slower, but at least the cheapest model in the range is supposed to have one.

The Sports Series is crucial for McLaren. It's tasked with more than doubling their sales. There's no denying that the 570S offers a lot for the money and probably looks better than anything they've ever done. However, it doesn't seem to be the everyday car, the 911 Turbo rival we expected.
