Once the 1s and 0s did their thing, the McLaren went from 532 hp and 432 lb-ft of twist to 583 hp and 518 lb-ft of twist - having been measured on a Dynojet dyno, these wheel output figures mean that the 570S ended up delivering past 650 ponies at the crank. So yes, we're dealing with an upgrade that brought the machine past the stock output of its 650S big brother.
Improving the already-impressive performance of the 570S seems to be the trend of the season. Even the British automaker pulled such a stunt late last month, when the company introduced the 570S Track Package.
Another example involves Italian aftermarket developer Novitec's 570S package, which offers a more complex approach, albeit without touching the cabin of the supercar.
Oh, and by the way, the best bit about this story is that the McLaren 570S can already challenge supercars such as the Lamborghini Huracan without requiring any tuning assistance.
