Mcchip-DKR Plants 780 HP Under the Hood of the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe

For a company that also does economy-oriented truck chip tuning and even agricultural vehicles tuning, mcchip-DKR is pretty good at squeezing more power out of already very powerful engines.

The expertise of this German tuning company goes even further than that, with boats, jet skis and even camper vans joining the list of vehicles mcchip-DKR is offering to improve. It’s safe to say that if it has an engine, they have a way of making it run better - whether that means more power or less fuel consumed.

Even the range of passenger cars that mcchip-DKR can tune is impressive, and its services can go both ways here as well: improve either fuel efficiency or power. Sorry, but the magic formula for having both at the same time hasn’t been found yet.

The latest mcchip-DKR tuning project involves the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S Coupé, a 585 hp and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) SUV. With that kind of numbers and an acquisition price to match, it’s clear nobody even bothers to read the fuel consumption numbers: it’s all about the power.

With that in mind, mcchip-DKR set out to see how much more of it can be obtained from that 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo. Unlike a straightforward chip tuning procedure that the company’s name might suggest, those nearly 200 extra hp required a much more complicated intervention. So complicated, in fact, that any interested party should know that it takes no less than six days to complete, as the whole engine needs to be taken out and then (obviously) put back in.

The reason for this permutation are the mechanical modifications that go with the software update such as improved turbochargers and a new exhaust system with sport cats and downpipes.

While mcchip-DKR didn’t communicate any performance numbers, the 200 hp jump and a 290 Nm increase should leave a mark on the AMG GLE63’s real-world abilities. A positive mark, that is.

And to sweeten the whole thing up is mcchip-DKR’s X-MAS 20% special offer that lasts throughout the whole month of December. Mcchip-DKR - I’m lovin’ it.
