After in 2013 it managed to return to the number one place in terms of luxury car sales in the US, Mercedes-Benz is currently keeping slightly ahead of BMW almost month after month, with the most recent numbers showing a similar situation.
As it happens, Mercedes-Benz USA today reported their best-ever April sales, with no less than 29,329 units sold across the Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart model lines, an increase of 12.1 percent from the 26,157 units sold in the same period in 2013.
The three-pointed star manufacturer alone managed to sell 25,887 cars for the month, representing an increase of 9.5 percent compared with last year and also inching ahead of BMW USA, which managed to sell 25,202 cars in the same period.
Year-to-date volumes for MB USA reached 98,501 units, up 6.1 percent compared with the same period last year, while adding the YTD sales of 7,018 for Sprinter Vans and 3,285 for smart, the American operations of Mercedes-Benz managed to sell a year-to-date grand total of 108,804 vehicles.
The best sold model in the Mercedes-Benz range was the facelifted E-Class (W212), with the 6,056 units sold in April representing an increase of 36.7 percent compared with the same period in 2013.
The highest sales jump was experienced by Mercedes-AMG model, which finished April with a 75.3 percent increase in sales from last year, while year-to-date volumes jumped no less than 74.6 percent.
