Steve Cannon is one of the most outspoken CEOs that Mercedes-Benz USA has had in recent decades if judging just from the recent quotes he gave about the German manufacturer's sales in the land of the free.

Speaking at an event honoring the 2013 Automotive News 100 Best Dealerships to Work For, the MB USA President spoke again about the recent success wave that Mercedes-Benz is riding on in the US.

“We're going to have a great year, and when we beat BMW, it will be based on natural sales [and] great execution.” Steve Cannon told Automotive News.

When asked if the Stuttgart manufacturer might try to pull a last-minute sales or something of the sort to keep its sales momentum and retake their luxury sales champion crown from BMW in the US, Cannon said: “We're not going to play that game. No shenanigans. We're a shenanigan-free environment.”

Currently, Mercedes-Benz is leading over BMW in USA sales with almost 3,000 cars through the month of September.
