Japanese automaker Mazda today announced two special editions of its well-known Mazda2 and Mazda6 models that will include a set of new features when compared to the base models. Dubbed Tamura Special Edition, the new range will be priced from £10,275 and will benefit from a 6.9 percent APR finance package, a special offers clearly aimed at boosting sales already affected by the economic downturn.
Mazda2 1.3 Tamura boasts Mazda's Sport Styling Pack, which includes front and rear sports bumpers, 2-bar sports grille, side skirts and rear spoiler, plus several other features such as new four cylinder headlamps, 16-inch dark grey alloy wheels and special Tamura badge. There are several exterior colors available, including Aluminum Metallic and Aurora Blue. Mazda2 Tamura is offered in two body configurations, with three or five doors.
In terms of features, Mazda2 Tamura has an important number of standard equipment, including manual air-conditioning, electric front windows, driver seat height adjustment, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and leather steering wheel and gear knob. Safety is enhanced by ABS, EBA, EBD, driver and passenger front aibags, side and curtain airbags, remote locking and alarms.
Powered by a 1.3-liter 86 ps petrol engine and featuring a five-speed manual transmission, Mazda2 Tamura has an average fuel consumption of 54.3 mpg (4.3 l/100km). This model costs between £10,275 and £10,775.
Mazda6 Tamura delivers more performance than the aforementioned model, namely a 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 10.2 seconds, partially thanks to its 2.0-liter 147 ps engine unit. The Sport Styling Pack includes front and rear sports bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler.
Standard equipment consists of DSC, TCS, six airbags, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, leather steering wheel and gear knob and trip computer with speed alarm. This model is priced at £16,695.
