Mazda Titan Truck Facelifted

Although recession times aren't quite appropriate for improving trucks – which, let's be honest, are extremely affected by the economic turmoil – Mazda Motor Corporation today announced that its Titan medium-duty truck has been facelifted, with all new models to go on sale in Japan as of today.

Just as expected - not only because we're talking about a truck, but also because the whole auto industry has become interested in these two aspects – the new Mazda Titan is particularly aimed at protecting the environment and improving fuel efficiency, as the company said in a statement for the press.

"The standard and middle cabin models with a three-ton cargo capacity now meet Japan’s FY2015 heavy-duty vehicle fuel economy standards. Additionally, all standard cabin model grades are now equipped with indicator lights on the lower part of the doors to make turn signals more visible," Mazda said in the release.

Furthermore, in order to enhance safety, the company has installed an electronic voice alert incorporated with the diesel particulate diffuser (DPD) and Smoother. The first things you'll notice when looking at the truck however are the indicator lights which are now installed at the bottom of the doors as standard on all trims included in the range.

The top-of-the-line redesigned Mazda Titan, available in Deluxe trim, is priced at 3,915,450 yen (41,150 US dollars) taxes included and comes equipped with a standard cabin, flat body, standard full wide low, wood-lined loading panels and Smoother Auto-Shift (5-speed) transmission. The cheapest version on the other hand costs 3,789,450 yen ($39,500) and features a 5-speed manual transmission and FWD system.
