In this age of the electric revolution, if you're looking for a way to highlight the importance a car's soundtrack has to many drivers, you can't go wrong with mentioning rotary engines. Let's take the Mazda RX-7, for example, since the Fast and Furios franchise has secured a place under the spotlights for the Japanese sports car.
Sure, its rotary engine might bring reliability issues, but the brap-brap soundtrack of the hardware has ensured a generous fan base for the toy. Even so, there are certain enthusiasts who introduce the RX-7 to the good old LS swap. After all, the V8 we're talking about sits at the other end of the reliability scale, and, given the number of builds it has powered over the years, such a heart transplant involves reasonable costs.

Well, the rendering that now sits on our screens comes to take that to the next level, swapping the entire front end. To be more precise, this pixel work gifts the FD-generation RX-7 most lovers of the badge dream about with the nose of the C5 Corvette., hence the nickname we used in the title. For the record, this generation of the 'Vette was animated by either an LS1 or an LS6, with the latter being offered on the Z06.

Oh well, at least the two machines did share a few years of showroom presence since the RX-7 was produced between 1992 and 2002, while the Corvette was built from 1996 to 2004.

Of course, this pixel exercise, which comes from Instagram label Car Front Swaps, is here to put a smile on our faces and nothing more.

However, with social media boosting the need for individuality while also allowing us to check out more projects than ever before, it wouldn't surprise us to see an eccentric shop out there coming up with a real-world build of the sort.

In fact, you can find a project sporting the opposite mix in the second Instagram post below, with an American enthusiast named Levi Wait having built a Corvette C5 drift car featuring an FD RX-7 front end; the V8 power is still there, though.
