Mazda Rewards Canadian Graduates for "Casual Sex"

In an effort to sell more cars during the global recession, Mazda is struggling to lure Canadian graduates with discounts in case they decide to buy a remaining model of the brand.

Good for them they have come up with an idea to get rid of the unsold stock but we just can not refrain from smiling when we think about their creative way to promote the graduate program. The guys from jalopnik.com managed to get their hands on a poster showing how Mazda Canada tries to tempt graduates to opt for their cars.

Since nothing sells better than sex, why not use the word in the ad then? That's exactly what Mazda did although the word doesn't fit in the landscape at all.  Certainly, it's funny and catchy but will graduates buy Mazda's unsold stock just because they feel rewarded by the Japanese car maker for their “hard work, determination and casual sex”? We highly doubt but hopes die last... as usual.

And since we're speaking about Mazda's graduate program, you have to know this applies only to Canadian residents who have graduated between January 1st, 2005 and December 31st, 2009, from an accredited Canadian university or college. The discounts vary from $500 for all Mazda 3 (including Mazdaspeed 3), all Mazda 6 (Mazdaspeed 6 included), Mazda 5, MX-5, RX-8, CX-7 and CX-9 to $750 for Tribute and B-Series.

However, before rushing to the dealerships, you may want to check whether your college could be found on Mazda's list of eligible institutions to make sure you're in the target. Remember that an applicant's degree can not be used more than once and that vehicles claimed for payment under the Special Fleet Program are not eligible.
