Mazda MX-5 Miata Black Matte Special Edition

The big fuss surrounding the 20th anniversary of the Mazda MX-5 recently got a Parisian flavor, as a special edition of the car was unveiled this week. Based on the standard MX-5 2.0, the Black & Matte edition will make its public debut at the Salon du Cabriolet, Coupé & SUV in Paris next month.

The company teamed up with fashion house LK, led by designer Laure Kczekotowska to prepare the car, leftlanenews.com reported. She took a 2.0-liter MX-5 roadster coupe, painted it with matte black, and added various rhinestones, gems and crystals. Or at least that is what the French press release reads...

However, if you do see the special treatment with rhinestones on the outside, let us know. We weren’t able to spot a single gem on it so far.

Or perhaps the treatment was made for the inside of the car. What we do see on the outside is the matte black paint, the chrome contour of the grille and the special wheels. Oh, and that long-legged lady stands out as well...

If you ask us, as special as they may call it, the MX-5 model is not what we could call a good choice for matte black. Nor the other way around. Furthermore, rumors say Mazda is still in doubt whether to include a matte finish in its French lineup, so don’t get too excited about it. You might just be left expecting for it.
