Following the unveiling of the 30th Anniversary, Mazda unleashed two styling packs for the MX-5. The Cup and Design are available in the United Kingdom at £1,995 and £4,675 on top of the starting price.
The Cup Pack consists of a stainless-steel exhaust system by Bastuck, 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, and a suspension lowering kit from Eibach. Customers can get the Cup Pack with either the 1.5- or 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G engine. The latter option comes with larger wheels and 181 brake horsepower.
Moving on to the Design Pack, a fifth of the price of an entry-level MX-5 includes everything the Cup Pack has to offer, a body kit, and Alcantara in various places around the cabin. The material can be found on the handbrake, door panels, dashboard, and six-speed manual transmission’s lever.
Also available for retrofitting, both packages can be ordered through any Mazda dealership in the United Kingdom. The automaker is also willing to include individual customization as long as the price is right.
More than one million MX-5 models were sold since Mazda came out with the pint-sized sports car, and no fewer than 134,000 were sold to British customers. To this day, the MX-5 is a popular sports car in the UK for all the right reasons and thanks to the affordable price tag of the 1.5 SkyActiv-G.
£20,045 on-the-road is how much Mazda wants for the Japanese roadster, making the MX-5 almost £7,000 cheaper than the Toyota GT 86. The RF which stands for Retractable Fastback starts at £23,645 for the SE-L Nav+ trim level, featuring heated seats, climate control, cruise control, and the MZD Connect infotainment system with the 7.0-inch touchscreen display.
The soft-top body style in SE+ specification isn’t as lavish, sporting amenities such as manual air conditioning and heated door mirrors. Mazda continues to offer a six-speed manual to whoever doesn’t get the purpose of the MX-5, and over in the United States, this option is getting increasingly popular.
