The MX-5 Mazda is already regarded as one of the best driving cars out there. The trick is, it managed to rise to the top of ad-hoc charts by focusing on weight rather than on power. Now, the brand new model gets an even better version.
Called the Mazda MX-5 Club version, the 'hardcore' edition has a couple of carefully thought out tricks up its sleeve. The most important one of all is probably the limited-slip differential at the back that should turn that rear axle into a really fun toy to play with.
Other changes include aftermarket Bilstein shocks and shock tower braces for better stability and the Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission. At the same time, this particular model will be the only one that comes with a unique set of 17" gunmetal alloy wheels shod with 205/45/R17 tires.
Aerodynamic changes were also included in the mix. The front bumper received a new air splitter and the rear now has a boot lid lip as well. There's an optional package as well that offers the Club model with a set of BBS wheels, Brembo brakes, new side sills and rear bumper skirt.
Being a special edition, the MX-5 Club comes with plenty of standard kit including the 7" touchscreen display with multi-function commander control, Bose audio system and two USB ports amongst others.
Fortunately, Mazda also offered a full press kit that allows us to take a look at how the Club version looks like and we have to say it's love at first sight.
