These days, the sheer idea of a Mazda Miata V8 swap might not impress die-hard aficionados that much, simply because many owners of the MX-5 have gone down that route. And while the engine compartment of the little roadster can accommodate such a motor, how about a V12?
Digital artist Khyzyl Saleem decided not to take any chances in his attempt to digitally shoehorn a twelve-cylinder unit into an MX-5, which is why he placed the engine at the back.

Of course, this is a rendering and yet, thanks to the elaborate style of the said car lover, this might just trick certain aficionados into believing it's a photo of a real-world project.

A simple glance at the Mazda will reveal the newfound aero bits of the car are decent, from the chin spoiler and the canards on the side of the front apron to the side skirts and the rear wing. Even with the said elements and the goodies visible in the lower rear area of the ride, we might still be able to label this one as a sleeper. After all, the muscle difference between the small four-pot factory motor of this NA Miata (the original one) and the said V12 is on the extreme side, regardless of the chosen powerplant.

Before you go, perhaps you'd like to dig deeper into those see-through wheels present on the machine. Well, the YouTube video at the bottom of the page shows you how to brew such toys in the garage. However, like many DIY adventures coming from the wacky Russians over at Garage54, you'd better leave this one for the pros due to the obvious safety concerns.

PS: If you see this Miata transformation as an uber-wild game, you might want to check out some of the real-world contraptions built on the Japanese sportscar's chassis, such as this... faux Rolls-Royce.
