Mazda Goes to Azerbaijan in Search of New Markets

Did you know that Azerbaijan didn't have a Mazda dealership? We didn't, but Mazda was quite aware of this issue and decided to do something about it. This is why they've announced today an agreement with Rotary Motors LLC to distribute Mazda vehicles in Azerbaijan.

“We continue to expand our sales activities wherever we feel there is potential for the brand,” said Jeff Guyton, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe.

“And Azerbaijan certainly meets this criterion. We are fortunate to have Rotary Motors LLC as our official distributor there. They have a lot of local experience importing Japanese cars successfully, and with our line-up of outstanding vehicles we expect to do well with them as our partner,” he added.

Mazda's model range for Azerbaijan will consist of new, second-generation versions of Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda6, along with Mazda’s sports crossover SUV range CX-7 and CX-9.

The new 500 sqm showroom in Baku, the country’s capital, will be officially opened on May 1. The press release issued today by Mazda also mentions three other dealerships, in Ganja, Lanaran and another one in Baku, to be opened in the near future.

This showroom is located within site of the Sumgait Highway and has a large garage that will offer Mazda customers full services and repairs.

The decision to continue expansion in other markets must be the result of Mazda Motor Europe’s good fiscal year (April 08 – March 09). Despite tough market conditions during the last four months, Mazda managed to sell 324,600 units, which is the second-highest volume in the company's history.
