Mazda Gets Three People’s Choice Awards

The Carsales Network People’s Choice Awards in Australia gave Mazda an early Christman gift: the Light car award was won by Mazda2, the Small car award was given to Mazda3, while the Medium car category crowned Mazda6 as the winner. The jury was made of 300,000 people who voted online for their favorite new car on sale.

"The results of the Carsales People's Choice Awards strongly reflect the sentiments of private new car buyers," said Carsales managing director Greg Roebuck. "Given we are Australia's first choice for new car enquiries, these awards give a clear indication of where buyers are spending their dollars and the strength of the respective models in their categories."

Carsales officials said: "Mazda3 is once again the most popular small car, and with good reason. No surprises the well-styled, well-priced hatch and sedan has a lot of fans considering the line-up includes everything from diesel-powered sipper models right up to the giant-killing turbo Mazda3 MPS."

"As for Mazda2, this snazzy little car continues to punch above its weight in areas of safety, and pricing also helps its case, meanwhile the ever popular and good-looking, well-equipped Mazda6 line-up continues to win fans,"
Carsales stated.

"The Carsales People's Choice Awards are of particular significance to us as they are voted on by the people who actually buy cars, the Australian public,"
said Doug Dickson, Mazda Australia managing director. "To win the trifecta two years running is proof that Mazda's core passenger vehicle range continues to meet the needs of Australian consumers in what is a highly competitive new car industry"
