The Mazda Demion 13C-V Smart Edition was fitted with an undercover, as well as with a roof-mounted spoiler, which allow it to increase its fuel efficiency by 0.4 km per liter, going from 20/2 km/L (47.5 US mpg or 4.95 l/100 km) to 20/6 km/l (48.5 US mpg or 4.85 l/100 km), using Japan’s JC08 test cycle.

This allows the Demio to be included in Japan’s eco-car tax reduction program and become eligible for a 50 percent cut of the vehicle buying and weight taxes. The entire Demio range has received two new exterior colors (Clear Water Blue Metallic and Stormy Blue Mica), while the Sporty Package and Comfort Package now come with the Border Black seat finish as an option.
