The Euro NCAP recently tested a new batch of vehicles, among which we can find the Mazda CX-5, with the crossover receiving a five-star safety rating. However, many cars come with this rating nowadays, so we must get into the details if we really want to find out how this car behaves during an impact
The CX-5 offered a level of protection of 94 percent for adult occupants, 87 percent for child occupants, 64 percent for pedestrians, as well as an 86 percent safety assist rating.

The vehicle offered a good level of protection during the side impact test and earned the maximum number of points for the side impact test, as well as for the more severe pole side impact test. As for the pedestrian impact test, the bumper provided good protection, but the the front edge of the bonnet was at best marginal.
