The funny thing about cars made in Japan is that they tend to be available much sooner there than everywhere else. A great example would be the Mazda CX-3 coming from Hiroshima, which we can't wait to get our hands on.
Already available in The Land of The Rising Sun with a varity of engines, this crossover not only handles a bit of rough ground, but also looks stunning, especially when compared to the Nissan Juke.

With full, muscular fenders and a sloped roof, the CX-3 has the right stance right away. However, that isn't going to stop the Japanese from trying to make a few modifications. Air suspension manufacturers ACC did just that with this white example.

The good thing about air suspension is that the car can be as low as a pig's belly one moment and sitting upright the other. The ACC Airrunner suspension system can lower the little Mazda crossover by 100mm or 4 inches. The system uses a 4 gallon compressed air tank located under the false boot floor to raise quickly or lower the suspension using large inflatable rubber "bellows" integrated into the suspension system.

No other modifications were made and thankfully the tank install under the boot's false floor, so your mom will never know what you're doing with the family car. However, she will probably notice the set of 19-inch LV5 wheels from Japanese specialist company Lowenhart.

The CX-3 is based on the same platform as the little Mazda2 supermini, but at 4,275mm (168 inches), it's much longer. The engines it's available with include a 1.3-liter Skyactiv-G unit, a new 1.5-liter diesel and the 2-liter gasoline unit which will be the only one available in America.
