Xenatec, a custom coachbuilder based in Weinsberg, Germany has whispered in Daimler’s ear that it wants to build a limited edition coupe based on the 57s sedan. The automaker agreed and so the model is destined for production.
The new coupe, which will take on the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe and Bentley Brooklands, will use the same platform as the sedan. It will have the same 5,730 mm in length, but it will be wider (2,180 mm) and lower (1,480 mm).
The imposing two-door will also borrow the 57s’ twin-turbo 6.0 liter V12, so it will offer 612hp and a hefty torque of 737 lb-ft. The vehicle will come with an enhanced handling, as it will feature a modified air suspension, offering wider tracks and 20 inch wheels.
At the front of the vehicle, we will find the new Maybach face, introduced at the Beijing Motor Show. The front doors are elongated and the B-pillar has been pushed back 20 cm. At the rear of the vehicle, we will see a new bumper, lighting and a custom exhaust. The exterior of the car will offer a two-tone color scheme.
The interior of the upcoming vehicle will have a high degree of customization, offering endless possibilities and including options such as sport seats.
The Maybach coupe will have a starting price of EUR650,000 ($816,500), with only 100 units to be produced. The vehicle will be introduced in markets like Asia, the U.S., the Middle East and Russia.
