Seeing how the Lancia Delta Integrale ranks up there with the most iconic Italian cars ever built, it’s no surprise restomodders decide to revisit it and offer the world a taste of a remarkable era of competition. Maturo Competition Cars, a Netherlands-based company known for taking old Lancia Delta Integrales and getting them ready for rallying, has unveiled their latest project in the form of a handsome Delta HF Integrale restomod.
Now, you might say that this is just another World Rally Championship Lancia restomod, but just stop a second and take a look at this carbon-fiber-bodied restomod that preserves the beautiful proportions of the Delta HF Integrale, but makes it better by “adding countless technical developments, using advanced materials, and revising many of the Italian 90’s automotive imperfections.”

Maturo’s take on the hot hatch is called Maturo Stradale and is based on the high-performance variant of the Group A car, which won WRC Manufacturer’s Championships in 1990 and 1991.

The Dutch tuner and race outfit wanted to stay as close as possible to the original to provide a similar driving experience, but with more horsepower, increased reliability, and more luxurious components.

The team has announced they will only build ten examples of the restomod, and for each build, they disassemble the chassis, strip it of paint, and then sandblast it. A custom-made roll cage is then installed, with over 250 spot welds at various weak points to increase rigidity. Everything is then coated in a special epoxy primer and repainted for corrosion resistance.

Maturo Stradale comes with a full carbon fiber body that sheds 50 kg (over 110 pounds) compared to the original Group A car, despite the additional exterior changes, which include a slightly more pronounced front lip and larger rear spoiler. The car comes with lightweight 17-inch Evo Corse wheels, which also help to reduce the overall weight.

Under the hood, the outdated 200 hp 2,0-liter four-cylinder engine of the original has been rebuilt to improve speed and handling. As such, multiple components are replaced by lighter, stronger, and more precise counterparts. The engine now uses a Carbon airbox, a converted OEM Garrett Turbocharger, larger intercooler, new injectors, new harness, lighter valves, as well as a reprogrammed ECU.

According to Maturo, all these are meant to lead to least 360 hp (365 ps) and 500 Nm (368.7 ft-lbs).

The engine is mated to a rehauled 5-speed manual gearbox. An optional dog-leg gearbox with straight-toothed gears is available as an upgrade.

The suspension package is also improved, having been equipped with state-of-the-art, four-way adjustable shock absorbers.

Moving on to the interior, Lancia’s cabin is now completely bespoke, boasting carbon bucket seats with rally harnesses and a removable rear seat. There is also a custom-designed dash and a modified Abarth rally steering wheel. The buyer will be able to choose between carbon, anodized aluminum, leather, or Alcantara trim.

The price for this Lancia Delta Integrale ‘Stradale’ Restomod has not yet been disclosed, but considering only ten units will be built, expect a premium cost.
