Getting the Interstellar actor to promote their latest crossover SUV was not just a smart marketing move, it also left an impression on people. Then there were all the parodies, spoofs of the Oscar winner's every gesture that most likely enhanced the effect. The moment has passed, sells have increased, but one question remained unanswered: is the True Detective star a Lincoln enthusiast?
Lincoln’s MKC crossover SUV is far from being the most expensive in its league. In fact, some may say that it's just a Ford Escape that you pay $10,000 extra.

Nevertheless, having the Lincoln Lawyer actor on board sure helped the company sell these puppies on quite a significant scale. If the series of commercials didn’t work the magic, then all those following spoofs sure did. Ford’s premium brand reported its sales were going up by 25 percent from the very first month after the advertorials kick in.

Heck, there even is a movie they named after the brand in which McConaughey is playing the central part, so there clearly has to be some connection between the actor and the luxury automaker. We assumed there was, but we recently stumbled upon the confirmation. It turns out the Dallas Buyer’s Club star is, in fact, a Lincoln driver and has been for some time now.

It all started with the 1986 Town Car he was driving in The Lincoln Lawyer, that later became the actor’s car, according to Pursuitist. “I just love how it felt. How it drove. Sometimes I like driving it because it’s so simple. I had a Navigator after that, and we had an Aviator that my then girlfriend, my wife now, drove. She loved it,” the Academy Award Winner told the source.

Apparently, the actor is a great road tripper and loves traveling by car as often as possible. He owns not one, but three Airstreams and they’re all customized in different ways to fulfill his traveling needs.
