There’s a saying that goes “at night, all cats are dark”, but what cat has managed to be darker than the rest, and cooler as well. We’re talking about a regular V8 version of the Audi R8 sportscar that has received a lick of matte black paint and an aftermarket Tubi exhaust system.
Youtube user Marchettino, who always manages to be in the right place at the right time, has captured the black beast prowling Misano race track in Italy. The menacing R8 does a couple of cool fly bys and the performance exhaust just tears up your eardrums. The V8 manages to somehow sound better and racier than any V10 could, but you have to take performance out of the equation.
We hear there’s a facelifted version of the R8 coming soon with a bit more power an a double-clutch gearbox instead of the single clutch auto currently in the car, which has let it down against its rival. That being said, a regular R8 is becoming relatively cheap, and the manual is a great sportscar that you might want to pick up from the second hand market for a bit of track action on the weekends.
