Matchless is one of the oldest names in the world when it comes to motorcycle manufacturing, but the British company has changed hands several times along the years.
The Matchless brand, formerly in Greek hands, has been acquired by Franco Malenotti, the Italian behind the revitalization of Belstaff apparel. Franco and his two sons Emanuele and Michele are planning to build a limited run of motorcycles based on the classic G80, Silver Hawk and Silver Arrow, with no info on the potential upgrades disclosed at the moment of writing.
While the new Matchless offices will be most likely based in London, Franco Malenotti hopes to make the new bikes available in both England and Italy, as these two markets have already proved their interest in retro-styled motorcycles.
And since Malenotti has a lot of experience in the apparel business already, we can truly expect a vintage/retro motorcycle line of accessories to become available once the new bikes will be ready.
