Master Yoda Recording for TomTom Is...

One of the most charming Star Wars characters lent its voice to TomTom for the company’s latest recording session, after Darth Vader did the same earlier this year. The character in question is none other than Master Yoda, whose voice is the latest official Star Wars voice to launch for the TomTom GPS devices.

As expected, incorporating dialogue inspired from the original Star Wars films, Yoda's navigation instructions include: "After 700 hundred metres hmm, keep to the right then take a sharp left. Control, control, if a Jedi you wish to be."

To make it even more attractive, the Yoda voice also comes with ghostly encouragement from Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi taken from the original films and embedded into the navigation commentary. Fans also get the chance to choose from a range of free official Yoda wallpapers and alert sounds.

"With incredible Jedi powers, Yoda is the ideal voice to guide Star Wars fans on their journeys," Alain Pakiry, Senior Vice President for Marketing at TomTom, said in a release. "Yoda is one of voices most frequently requested by the TomTom community. So we're thrilled to launch the official Yoda voice, available only on TomTom devices."

According to TomTom, all official Star Wars voices for TomTom devices are available in English, while Yoda and Darth Vader are also now available in German.

Yoda's voice is available to download now for £7.95 from the following link, where you can also find audio samples. TomTom announced that Han Solo will complete the lineup this August.

Hopefully, you won’t get to hear the “A wrong turn you have made, to the dark side” line coming from your navigation system...
