KERS or no KERS, Ferrari's Felipe Massa feels confident that he can only get better in the upcoming season of F1. The Brazilian insisted that what happened last season, especially at Interlagos, only made him a more experienced driver this year. While present at the unveiling of Ferrari's new F60 machinery, Massa made it very clear what he's aiming for in 2009, while admitting he will have some strong competition this year.

“Every year I feel stronger. I think after so much experience in these six years I feel stronger, I feel more experienced, especially after last year, with how difficult the championship was. That makes me ready and even more experienced for next season,” said Massa earlier today, at Mugello.

“It's difficult to say what the most difficult car to beat will be. We expect McLaren to be very competitive, maybe BMW, who are working really hard and growing a lot year by year. Maybe Renault and maybe we can have some other team who can show great performance as well. So it's quite difficult to say but for sure we are working really hard and hopefully it will be us,” added the Brazilian.

Although unveiling its F60 model with the Kinetic Energy Recovery System included, it is unlikely that Ferrari will actually use the unit from the very first race of 2009. The Scuderia made no secret of their late development of the new technology and are expected to test the KERS unit on-track for the first time during the upcoming winter testing sessions.

Massa admitted he was very surprised with the looks of the new car, as the F60 features a completely new aerodynamics as compared to the 2008-spec car. The Brazilian will be the first driver to take the new machinery for a test drive later today.

“I'm quite surprised because I expected a big car like it was 10 years go. But the car is very, very small, very compact, the rear end especially. It looks pretty nice, it looks pretty good and hopefully it will be as quick as it looks,” concluded Massa.
