If you thought Gumball 3000 is the only eccentric rally that has A-listers drive their hundred-thousand-dollars vehicles on great European highways, we’re here to prove you wrong. Sure, Maximillion Cooper’s party on wheels has a little to do with charity too, but the one we’re about to talk of is rather a celebrity fundraiser on wheels. Of course, Maserati was there too.
If we could have all those socialites out there to participate in these ventures, this world would truly be a better place. The Cash & Rocket event is already at its fourth consecutive year and has some high stakes on the table, with a one million pounds target for this edition.

What is Cash and Rocket? “[It’s an event] set up to bring inspiring women together for the ultimate adventure of a lifetime. Through female solidarity, our aim is to raise money for charities around the world, which will make a huge difference to the lives of many,” the foundation’s work is described.

Maserati’s part in this charity adventure involved five of their saloons and a group of beautiful models driving them along the route. The tour kicked off in London the other day, then drove through Paris, Lyon, and Milan before finishing in Cannes today, where everybody will be joining the annual film festival.

The luxury Italian automaker joined the fleet of 35 vehicles, all boasting bright red, the color of the Tour’s flag. According to the carmaker, the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli models were driven by the first shift of a host of beautiful, highly successful drivers known throughout the world supporting this charity event. “Among the celebrities at the wheel of the Maserati Ghibli will be the former angel of Victoria’s Secret, Selita Ebanks, and the stunning Spanish model Nieves Álvarez,” the Italians explain.

As to the direction of the money being raised, all the donations will go towards Shine on Sierra Leon, OrphanAfrica and Sumbandila. All these organizations are involved in the promotion of community projects intended to improve the future prospects of thousands of young people living in Central and South Africa.
