Ferrari recently dismissed the rumors indicating it was working on an extreme version of the LaFerrari and now it’s Maserati’s turn to come out and say that it is not developing a project based on the Ferrari hypercar.
Harald Wester, Maserati CEO, used the launch of the Maserati Quattroporte V6 to explain that the sources indicating his company was developing its own version of the LaFerrari were far from the truth.
The unnoficial information was based on the fact that Maserati created the MC12 in the past, its own incarnation of the Ferrari Enzo. Back then, the Italians made two version of the car, one for the street and one destined exclusively for the racing world.
Nevertheless, Maserati’s CEO confirmed that the carmaker will offer limited edtion models in the future, but he didn’t offer any details.
