We have known for a while now that the new car Maserati would be bringing to the Paris Motor Show was going to be the GranCabrio MC Stradale, a roofless version of the GranTurismo MC Stradale, which aside from the lack of a roof, carries over all the aggressive styling cues of its more rigid sibling.
However, in the quest for better aerodynamic properties, the GranCabrio MC Stradale is 48 mm longer than the regular version of the car, courtesy of a new nose and rear end with an integrated lip spoiler, with the latter reducing lift at high speed, in order to give the car a planted and safe feeling.

The car retains the same 4.7-liter V8 engine, found under the bonnet of the coupe, yet it is not connected to the same sequential gearbox, as it was deemed too jerky to suit the more relaxed character of the cabriolet. Another differentiating factor is the retention of the rear seats, which have been removed on the coupe version.
