Launched in 1971 and sold until 1978, the Maserati Bora was one of Modena’s many mid-engined V8-powered supercars. It wasn’t as good looking as the Ghibli, but it managed a top speed of 171 mph (275 km/h), which made it an excellent contender for the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of that era.
Forgotten by some, the Bora was brought back to life by car designer Alex Imnadze, who rendered a 2013 concept version with a few design cues taken from Maserati’s newly-launched Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans. Although it has little in common with the original Bora, the concept is attractive to say the least and it would certainly fit in Maserati’s current lineup.
But since the Italian manufacturer has no plans to revive the Bora moniker, all we can do is enjoy the photo gallery below.
