Mary Kate Olsen Drives a Porsche 911 Carrera to the Nail Salon

OK, we admit we decided to write this article only because we're envious, but god dammit, it's disturbing to see a 24-year gurl (copyright to Katy Perry) driving a Porsche 911 Carrera while we, who really know what a Porsche is all about, can only dream about such a thing. And you know what's more annoying? The folks at celebritycarsblog.com wrote that one of the Olsen twins used the 911 Carrera to go to a... nail salon.

We're almost sure the none of the Olsen twins actually know that the base 911 Carrera is powered by a 3.6-liter engine that develops 345 horsepower at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 390 Nm at 4400 rpm. That's right, the car develops more power than what you'd need to go to a nail salon and, unless you're ready to unleash the full power on a circuit, it's a blasphemy to buy a Porsche for such "common" activities.

OK, to go further with Porsche, it's worth mentioning that the engine we were talking about goes from naught to sixty in just... hold your breath... 4.9 seconds. The maximum speed, if the vehicle is not fitted with an electronic limitation, goes up to 179.6 mph (289 km/h).

Probably the only good think for Mary Kate is that the Porsche 911 Carrera doesn't burn too much fuel, not that money spent on gasoline would be a problem for her. According to official figures, the car achieves 20.3 mpg (11.6 l/100km) city and 39.2 mpg (6 l/100km) highway.
