India's car market leader Maruti Suzuki today unveiled a stunning new concept called the Ciaz at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo today, thus previewing its plans for a large executive class sedan in the near future.
The car looks suspiciously like the Authentics Concept revealed last year in April, at the Shanghai Motor Show. The only difference is that while that concept was pale gold, the New Delhi debut is a dark, rich tone of red.
The 4.6-liter sedan will enter production soon and, in India at least, is reported to be offered with two engines: a petrol 1.4-liter K-series unit and a 1.6-litre MultiJet with 120 hp borrowed from Fiat, the same unit offered in the SX4 S-Cross.
Apart from the Ciaz Concept, Suzuki also showed 14 different models, including variants of existing models such as Swift Sport, Alto, Ritz, Ertiga and Dzire.
