Even if, for most of us, a Russian-made supercar is not exactly the first thing to come to mind when talking about speed and performance, it doesn't mean Russian supercars don't exist. Whereas up until now there was only one (the so called B1, unveiled last year), the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show will witness the unveiling of its successor, the B2, pistonheads.com reported.
At least this is the rumor. According to gtspirit.com, for instance, the new Marussia is in fact the old Marussia, in production-ready clothes...
Whatever the case may be, the supercar was teased today in Russian media and is said to take the stand at Marussia's German presentation. Of course, little is known about the B2, apart from the fact that is supposedly modeled as a fighter jet.

The super body of the supercar had under its hood a very unlikely engine for a vehicle of its type. With only 240 hp, the 3.5l engine makes the B1 a worthy contender the Golf GTI, at most.
As for Marussia, the manufacturer is the brainchild of Nikkolai Formenko, a man with quite a bit experience in the automotive field -former GT pilot and currently host of the Russian version of Top Gear. Little details which make the B2 Frankfurt entry even more interesting to see...
autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
