After a sour experience with Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber decided to leave Formula 1 for good and have a go at endurance racing. He raced 6 times this year for the Porsche Team, but let’s be frank here - F1 single seaters are cooler than Le Mans prototypes.
Question for proper Formula 1 fanatics: what would you do if you were offered the chance to own a Red Bull RB3 once driven by the Aussie motorsport icon? To boot, this example of the breed can be had for the price of a slightly kitted Ferrari F12 - just £250,000 or €318,800 / $396,100 at current exchange rates.
Currently located in East Grinstead from rainy UK, the seller of this Adrian Newey-designed RB3 says that this is chassis 02 and it’s the only privately-owned Red Bull F1 racecar that was actually raced.
As a brief reminder, the first Red Bull Racing single seater designed by Adrian Newey uses a Renault RS27 V8 engine. Despite the extremely reliable naturally aspirated powerplant, the RB3 suffered a lot in other areas, managing to drive for only 74 percent of the 2007 season’s total race distance.
Despite the shameful feat, this car will be worth a lot more than an F12 Berlinetta in 5 years’ time...

The seller says the car competed, with Webber at the wheel, in five Grand Prix events from 2007
These are the Australian GP, Malaysian GP, Bahrain GP, Spanish GP and the ever-important Monaco Grand Prix. For that money, the future owner of the RB3 will also get “various aero configurations front and rear wing configurations, nose configurations, engine covers, floors, body panels, head rests and wheels.”As a brief reminder, the first Red Bull Racing single seater designed by Adrian Newey uses a Renault RS27 V8 engine.
