We’re still weeks away from getting any chance to put our hands on Porsche’s latest two-seater Boxster Spyder, but when you’re Maria Sharapova, all the doors are open for you. Maybe not all of them, but these two definitely were the other day, when the five-time Grand Slam Champion took the sportscar for a spin.
OK, maybe being a Russian blonde with long legs and a giant talent at playing tennis are not the only things that make Sharapova drive Porsche's best. Maybe you haven’t heard it, but you should know the 28-year-old beauty is also a Porsche Global Ambassador. In other words, she’s paid for driving the company’s newest cars around the world.

The gorgeous blond was busy with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Pre-Wimbledon Party the other day, so Porsche figured a bit of marketing wouldn’t harm anyone. Apparently, it did not hurt the eye of the passers-by as they would admire two beauties at the same time.

As we all know, the Spyder made its world debut at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, and it is available for order since April. However, Porsche’s new breed will not be arriving officially in showrooms until July.

All these considered, driving around the streets of Mayfair clearly was a good idea to showcase the mid-engined beast. No that there’s any need to mention the 3.8-liter, 375 horsepower engine that is capable of hitting the mark in 4.5 seconds or the top speed of 180 mph, but we like the sounds of it.

Apparently, Sharapova did enjoy the drive too: “This is huge fun - truly thrilling. I love that his new Boxster Spyder is like a classic sportscar, but at the same time feels so modern and sophisticated. It’s a fantastic car and I need to get one!”

Yes, we need to get one too ASAP!
